Road safety campaign launched in Tobago

Tobagonians have been given the opportunity to pledge their support to road safety.

The road safety caravan was launched in Tobago at the Magdalena Grand Resort after making way its way through several communities in Trinidad.

The long Easter weekend is coming and Chairman of the National Road Safety Council Verma Johnson says the launch of the road safety campaign in Tobago is timely.

Minister of Transport, Chandresh Sharma says he’s committed to reducing the level of road carnage.

Citing 1000 persons lost in five years, many of them young men, he says he wants all drivers to adhere to the laws of the road.

The campaign involves various stakeholders in partnership with the government and the minister says school children will play an important role.
